This series is the only one that mixes both color and black and white. Though black and white is my favored medium, there are some places such as the yellow bedroom in an Icelandic village during the midnight sun, or the red motel room, that would have lost what I saw suffused in such a warm glow, Then there are others, a lake still as liquid silver in a bear sanctuary in Northern Minnesota, a sidewalk in Denver at night that now is full of glass apartments, or a salt field in the Solar de Uyuni in Bolivia that color would unalterably detract from the forms and textures that caused me to take the photo in the first place. I can only hope it is not too disturbing to go from one photo that depends on form and texture, to another that depends on color.
